Where do Rams rank among teams with most sacks this century?

The Los Angeles Rams have a long history of dominant pass rushers who have worn the horns on their helmet. Deacon Jones, Jack Youngblood and Merlin Olsen immediately come to mind, but even in more recent memory, the Rams have gotten a ton of production out of their pass rushers.

Since 2000, only two teams have more sacks than the Rams. Those teams are the Steelers (unsurprisingly) and the Eagles.

The Rams have 912 sacks this century, 31 more than the fourth-best team, the Packers. That’s the result of having Aaron Donald for the last eight years, as well as Chris Long, Robert Quinn and Leonard Little.

The Rams have also had others come through and help drive up sack numbers. Von Miller had a huge impact in his half-season in Los Angeles, Leonard Floyd has 20 sacks in two years and Michael Brockers can’t be forgotten for his 28 sacks in nine seasons.

There’s a big gap between the Steelers and everyone else, and another big drop-off from the Rams to the Packers. Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and the Rams are the clear-cut three best pass-rushing teams this century – and so long as Donald keeps playing, the Rams are likely to rank near the top of the league in this category.
