Where Alabama sits in ESPN’s efficiency rankings

No. 4 Alabama is coming off a big road win this past Saturday against the Mississippi State Bulldogs and you could make the argument it was the Tide’s most efficient performance of the season.

Speaking of efficiency, each week ESPN updates its College Football Power Index and a piece of that puzzle is team efficiency rankings. So I thought we could take a few moments to dive into where Alabama ranks in efficiency according to ESPN.

Offensively, Alabama ranks third in the nation just behind Ohio State and Coastal Carolina with a 92.1 efficiency rating.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Tide sits with an 80.5 rating which ranks sixth in the country.

The special teams unit has also performed well this season for Alabama as it ranks seventh with an 82.3 rating.

Alabama sits just behind Georgia in the overall efficiency rankings with a 94.6 rating.

If Alabama can continue the effort they displayed against Mississippi State this past weekend, they should see a rise in their rankings across the board.
