Who were the Shore Conference wrestling stars from Week 5 of the 2023-24 season?

The Asbury Park Press is highlighting the top Shore Conference wrestling stars each week during the 2023-24 season.

Here are those stars from the week of Jan. 8-14.

Killian Coluccio, Christian Brothers Academy

A freshman 106-pounder Coluccio won the 107-pound championship at the Escape The Rock Tourmament at Council Rock South (Pa.) and also had a key 4-2 win on a takedown with three seconds left over Southern's returning region champion and eventual Escape The Rock 107-pound fourth-place finisher Anthony Mason in the No. 1 Colts' dramatic 30-28 win over No. 2 Southern.

Matt Henrich, Southern

Henrich, last year's NJSIAA 150-pound champion finished second at 152 pounds in the Escape The Rock Tournament. He was defeated 4-3 in the final by Bethlehem Catholic's Kollin Rath on a takedown with 20 seconds remaining. Rath, a returning PIAA champion, is ranked No. 24 overall in the country by flowrestling.org. Earlier in the tournament, Henrich picked up career win No. 100.

Dominic Terracciano, Keansburg.

A senior, Terracciano won the Buc Classic 132-pound title with two pins and a technical fall. The week prior, Terracciano finished third at 132 in the Shore Conference Tournament and became Keansburg's first SCT medal winner.

Anthony Paulino, Holmdel

Paulino, a senior, won the Buc Classic 138 pound championship as the No. 2 seed with three pins.

Jason Huss, Red Bank

A sophomore, Huss won the Buc Classic 144-pound championship. He was one of five champions from host Red Bank in the tournament as the Bucs captured the team championship by 1.5 points over Middlen Township with Holmdel five points further back in third. Huss majored No. 1 seed Michael McNulty of Manasquan 16-3 in the final.

Matt Gauthier, Lacey

A senior and returning Region 7 fifth-place finisher, Gauthier pinned in the final bout at 157 pounds to give Lacey a 37-36 win over Colts Neck. Gauthier had three pins on the day in the Colts Neck quad as the Lions went 2-1. The night before, Lacey defeated Point Pleasant Borough 36-35 in a key Shore Conference Class B South match. That result left Jackson Liberty in sole possession of first place in the division with a match at Point Boro on Jan. 31

Michael Volek, Ocean

Volek, a returning region fifth-place finisher, went 5-0 with four pins on the week. Ocean went 5-0 on the week, including a win over Jackson Memorial.

Jake Zaltsman, St. John Vianney

A junior and a two-time state qualifier, Zaltsman had a key 8-6 win over returning state qualifier Noah Kochman in the Lancers' 33-28 win over Bergen Catholic at Bergen Catholic

Zach Reilley, Raritan

Reilley, who was fifth in the state last season at 138 pounds, picked up career win No. 100 and had five first period pins on the week. The 100th career win came in the Rockets' defeat to Ocean.

Hudson Skove, Rumson-Fair Haven

The defending NJSIAA 215-pound champion, Skove picked up career win No. 100 and had three first period pins on the week
