Who were the Shore Conference baseball stars from Week 6 of the 2024 season

It was a big week as the scholastic baseball season began its sprint to the finish line.

In the Shore Conference, the divisional races were settled, the Shore Conference Tournament got underway and the Monmouth County Tournament got down to the championship game.

There were many outstanding performances during the week. Here are 10 of them with emphasis on SCT and divisional championship clinching games.

Jack Tiernan (St. Rose): Tiernan fired a no-hitter and struck out 12 and walked five in the Purple Roses' 4-0 win over Ocean in a Shore Conference Tournament first round game.

Ryan Costello (Ranney): Costello hit two home runs for his 13th and 14th homers of the season and had six RBI to pull within one of tying the Shore Conference single-season home run record of 15 in the Panthers' 10-5 win over Matawan. He had three homers and 12 RBI on the week and also picked up save.

Christian Suarez (Wall): Suarez recorded his third consecutive shutout by pitching a two-hitter as the Crimson Knights clinched the outright Shore Conference Class A Central championship with a 2-0 win over Holmdel. Suarez struck out six and walked four. It was Wall's first divisional championship since 2019, when a team led by current Houston Astros' farm hand Trey Dombroski and coached by former head coach Todd Schmitt won the NJSIAA Group 3 championship.

Casey Gardiner (Colts Neck): Gardiner went 5-for-8 with two homers and five RBI as the Cougars clinched a share of the Shore Conference Class A North championship with Middletown South and CBA with wins over CBA and Marlboro. The win over CBA was the Cougars' second in as many days over the Colts.

Nick Garbooshian (Brick Memorial): Garbooshian hurled a complete-game three-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI single to right in the bottom of the fifth of the Mustangs' 4-0 win over Manasquan in a SCT first-round game. He also was 3-for-4 with two RBI in Brick Memorial's 14-1 win over Barnegat.

Mark Kovach (Matawan); Kovach pitched five innings of no-hit ball and struck out 11 and walked one as the Huskies clinched the outright Shore Conference Class B North championship with a 4-0 win over Red Bank. It is Matawan's first outright divisional title since 1972. The Huskies also shared a divisional championship in 2011.

Daniel Trentacosta (Marlboro): Trentacosta hurled 7 2/3 innings of one-run, three-hit ball in the Mustangs' 2-1 win in 11 innings over Monmouth in a SCT first-round game. He struck out six and walked four.

Collin Denton (Monmouth): Denton pitched 10 innings of one-run, four-hit ball in the Falcons' 2-1, 11-inning defeat to Marlboro in a SCT first-round game. He struck out five and walked two.

Joe Santi (Shore): Santi pitched a complete-game three hitter and drove in the game's only run with a fielder's choice in the Blue Devils' 1-0 win over Raritan. He struck out six and walked three.

Phil Kramer (Raritan): Kramer hurled a complete-game four-hitter in the Rockets' 7-0 win over Holmdel. It was Kramer's second complete-game shutout against Holmdel. He had a no-hitter against the Hornets April 10 in a 1-0 win. Kramer struck out six and walked one.
