The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers couldn’t settle anything over 60 minutes at SoFi Monday.

The game went to overtime at 16-16, which gave the officiating crew more chances to build its collective arm strength.

The Broncos were hit with 10 flags in regulation for 151 penalty yards.

Damarri Mathis, a fourth-round pick out of Pitt, was a massive offender. He was flagged four times for defensive pass interference.

The total yardage on those yellow hankies was around 90 yards.

That was more rushing yardage than the Chargers had in regulation and just shy of the 95 Denver gained.

The Chargers were guilty, too.

They had 7 flags for 75 yards in regulation.

So, in the first 60 minutes, there were 17 accepted penalties for 226 yards, which was more than either team had passing.

The Chargers wanted to keep the flow of yellow flags going as they were called for a holding penalty in overtime.
