This week's top performers in high school athletics; Lacrosse teams reach state semifinals

Here are some of the top performers in Upstate high school athletics for the week of April 15-21. This list will be updated throughout the week. Coaches can make submissions by email or by X, formerly Twitter, to @toddshanesySHJ.

Saturday

Boys lacrosse

Christian Carbonell, Greenville: Carbonell had four goals and an assist as Greenville beat Eastside, 14-10, in the Class AAAA Upper State semifinals. The Red Raiders (13-3) will play 6 p.m. Tuesday at home against A.C. Flora for the Upper State title and a berth in Saturday's state championship game.

Harrison Finney, Mauldin: Finney had two goals and three assists as Mauldin beat Boiling Springs, 14-6, in the Class AAAAA Upper State semifinals. The Mavericks (15-3) will play 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nation Ford in the Upper State final.

Doug Landrum, Greenville: Landrum scored three goals in the win against Eastside.

Bryce Robinson, Mauldin: Robinson, a senior goalkeeper, stopped 19 of 25 shots on goal against Boiling Springs.

Friday

Baseball

Evan Allen, Wren: Allen pitched seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts and only three hits allowed in a 4-0 win against Belton-Honea Path.

Cole Bellinger, Greer: Bellinger pitched a two-hit shutout with no walks and struck out eight in a 1-0 win against Riverside.

Tripp Cook, Crescent: Cook went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs ina n 8-2 win against West-Oak.

Elijah Grant, Spartanburg: Grant pitched a complete game in a 3-1 win against Boiling Springs. He struck out five and worked around nine hits and walks.

Seth Manning, T.L. Hanna: Manning pitched five shutout innings and allowed just one hit with 11 strikeouts in an 11-0 win against Woodmont.

Blake Miller, Wren: Miller pitched seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts and three hits allowed in a 4-0 win against Belton-Honea Path.

Dru Nelson, Riverside: Nelson went seven innings against Greer, allowing one run on seven hits.

Jackson Ownbey, Daniel: Ownbey went 3-for-5 with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth as Daniel beat Powdersville, 6-5.

Drayton Parsons, Palmetto: Parsons pitched six innings and allowed one earned run on six hits in a 3-1 win against Powdersville.

Brayden Parton, Dorman: Parton pitched six shutout innings and allowed one hit with three walks while striking out five in a 10-0 win against Gaffney.

Titus Poore, Landrum: Poore struck out 10 batters in five innings while allowing only one hit and one run to pick up the win as the Cardinals beat Broome, 4-2.

Boys soccer

Smith Darby, J.L. Mann: Darby scored three goals in a 4-1 win against Daniel.

Reid Feldman, St. Joseph's: Feldman scored three goals in a 5-1 win against Eastside.

Boys track and field

Avery Butler, Seneca: Butler won the discus (171-00.00) at the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic Elite Meet, a statewide meet held in Seneca.

Walker Ferguson, Mauldin: Ferguson won the javelin (179-00.50) in Seneca.

Raheim Harris, Spartanburg: Harris won the 100 meters (10.62) and was second in the 200 meters (21.29).

Jaxson Jerabek, Wren: Jerabek won the pole vault (16-01.00).

Girls soccer

Payton Nutzman, Eastside: Nutzman scored both goals as Eastside beat Christ Church, 2-0.

Girls track and field

Ayiana Chalmers, Hillcrest: Chalmers won the long jump (17-11-75), triple jump (37-09.50) and was second in the high jump (5-01.00) at the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic Elite meet held in Seneca.

Ella Harned, Pickens: Harned won the high jump (5-01.00) in Seneca.

Ayanna Hunt, Westside: Hunt won the discus (154-11.00).

Ava Lindsey, Greenville Hurricanes: Lindsey won the 3,200 meters (10.38.75).

Molly Page Morris, Powdersville: Morris won the 100 hurdles (14.89).

Softball

Maliyah Campbell, Woodmont: Campbell struck out 16 batters in seven innings and allowed only one hit in a 9-0 win against T.L Hanna.

Kinsley Kay, Belton-Honea Path: Kay pitched the Bears to a 2-1 win against Wren with seven innings, three hits, one walk, one run and seven strikeouts.

Cassidy Lee, Woodmont: Lee hit two home runs and drove in six against Hanna.

Sydney Price, Landrum: Price pitched a complete game in a loss to Chesnee, allowing only one run and striking out seven.

Bella Rollins, Chesnee: Rollins pitched a complete game in a win against Landrum with seven strikeouts with one hit allowed.

Thursday

Baseball

Bryson Bishop, Eastside: Bishop pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts and one hit allowed in a win against Wren.

Carson Boleman, Southside Christian: Boleman struck out 11 in five innings of a 9-1 win against St. Joseph's, allowing one hit with no walks and no earned runs. At the plate, he was 2-for-2 and drove in a run.

Will Bolton, Christ Church: Bolton struck out seven batters and allowed only four hits, one walk and no earned runs in six innings of an 8-1 win against Brashier Middle College.

Ejan Fusetti: Eastside: Fusetti hit a home run and drove in four against Wren.

Boys soccer

Eathan Campuzano, Powdersville: Campuzano had two goals and two assists in a 6-0 win against Palmetto.

Girls soccer

Marissa Bernstein, Dorman: Bernstein scored two goals in a 3-1 win against Boiling Springs.

Girls lacrosse

Isabella Bright, Riverside: Bright scored seven goals and had two assists as Riverside beat Eastside, 19-4, in the Class AAAA Upper State semifinals.

Sara Evans, Spartanburg: Evans scored six goals in an 11-8 loss to J.L. Mann in the Class AAAAA Upper State semifinals.

Jessica Mikesell, Christ Church: Mikesell had seven goals and four assists in a 23-12 win against Wade Hampton in the Class AAAA Upper State semifinals.

Grace Quattlebaum, Christ Church: Quattlebaum had five goals and two assists against Wade Hampton

Morgan Siglin, Wade Hampton: Siglin had six goals against Christ Church. She finishes her junior season ranked No. 1 in the state for goals scored (142) and points (180).

Wednesday

Baseball

Cole Bellinger, Greer: Bellinger had two hits, including a home run, in an 8-7 loss to Riverside.

Walker Cox, Easley: Cox pitched all six innings of an 11-1 win against Greenville and allowed only three hits and one run while striking out five.

George Massingill, Southside Christian: Massingill pitched a complete game and allowed one earned run while striking out seven in a 6-2 win against St. Joseph’s.

Cooper Noble, Riverside: Noble drove in two with a hit and scored a run against Greer.

Landon Stevens, Boiling Springs: Stevens went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, drove in three and scored twice in a 12-1 win against Spartanburg.

Boys lacrosse

Hudson Cremmins, J.L. Mann: Cremmins had three assists and a goal as the Patriots beat Dorman, 13-6, in the first round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs.

Capers Gross, Greenville: Gross had five assists and scored two goals in a 19-4 win against St. Joseph’s in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.

Lake Kellermyer, Eastside: Kellermyer had three goals and three assists as Eastside beat Catawba Ridge, 10-5, in the opening round of Class AAAA.

Will Wright, Greenville: Wright scored four goals in the win against St. Joseph’s.

Softball

Bethany Brown, Fountain Inn: Brown hit a double and a triple, drove in three runs and scored two in a game against Laurens.

Natalie Regan, Riverside: Regan hit two home runs in a 10-0 win. She finished a three-game stretch (three wins) during which she was a combined 7-for-8 with two home runs, a triple, a double, five runs scored, five RBIs and three stolen bases.

Tuesday

Baseball

Jake Short, Byrnes: Short pitched four shutout innings with five strikeouts and two hits allowed in a 7-3 win against J.L. Mann.

Aaron Tolbert, Easley: Tolbert homered and drove in four runs to help beat Greenville, 8-4.

Girls lacrosse

Carlie Balck, Greenville: Balck scored five goals and added an assist in a 17-16 loss to Wade Hampton in the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs.

Isabella Bright, Riverside: Bright had four goals and two assists as Riverside beat Aiken, 20-4, in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.

Sara Evans, Spartanburg: Evans had three goals and an assist in a 19-4 win against Dorman in the first round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs.

Addy Heiser, Riverside: Heiser had two goals and three assists against Aiken.

Amelia Kent, Greenville: Kent scored five goals against Wade Hampton.

Brice Krydynski, Spartanburg: Krydynski scored three goals and had an assist in the playoff win against Dorman.

Addison Moody, Byrnes: Moody had six goals and two assists as Byrnes beat T.L. Hanna, 16-7, in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.

Evers Morris, Spartanburg: Morris had six goals and two assists in Spartanburg's opening game of the playoffs. Morris, a sophomore, has 64 goals this season.

Morgan Siglin, Wade Hampton: Siglin, the state’s leading scorer, had 10 goals along with three assists for Wade Hampton against Greenville.

Softball

Taylor Beak, Pendleton: Beak hit a home run and drove in three as Pendleton beat Walhalla, 12-1.

Laney Jennings, Pendleton: Jennings allowed only an unearned run in six innings against Walhalla while striking out six and allowing only three hits with a walk.

Halle Tomkins, Palmetto: Tomkins pitched a five-inning no-hitter as Palmetto (14-4, 6-1) beat Fountain Inn, 11-1. She struck out 11, walked one and gave up an unearned run.

Monday

Baseball

Miles Barbrey, Fountain Inn: Barbrey went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two walks in an 11-8 win against Southside Christian.

George Massingill, Southside Christian: Massingill went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored in a game against Fountain Inn.

Carson Scott, Woodmont: Scott pitched seven innings and allowed only four hits and one earned run in a 5-3 win against T.L. Hanna in eight innings.

Jack Stepp, Wade Hampton: Stepp batted and pitched the Generals to a 4-2 win against Laurens. He went 2-for-3 with a double. He pitched six innings and struck out nine with five hits, one walk and no earned runs allowed.

Boys golf

Peyton Lawter, Chesnee: Lawter shot 68 to win medalist honors at the Spartanburg County tournament by five shots.

Hugh Lemonds, Spartanburg: Lemonds shot 73 to help the Vikings win the team title at the Spartanburg County tournament.

Bennett Scaletta, T.L. Hanna: Scaletta broke his own school record with an 8-under-par 64 at the Anderson Brothers Invitational in Florence. The freshman last year had a 6-under 66 in winning the Class AAAAA state championship.

Emmett Walsh, Spartanburg: Walsh shot 73 to help the Vikings win the Spartanburg County tournament.
