Weather causes schedule changes to AHSAA softball and baseball finals: See updated schedule here
OXFORD — The final day of the AHSAA spring sport season will have some shakeup due to weather in the forecast.
There are still three Blue Map Trophies to hand out in Class 6A baseball and Classes 2A and 3A softball. Hillcrest is looking to take one out of two possible games against Hartselle to win a Blue Map in baseball while softball still has four teams alive in each bracket. Opp in Class 3A and Wicksburg in Class 2A have clinched their spots in the final.
The only change as of Thursday night is the Class 2A softball games will move to Jana McGinnis Field on the campus of Jacksonville State. Both classes started play at 9 a.m. and will have their finals start around 1:30 p.m.
The original schedule had softball games starting at 9 a.m. CT at Choccolocco Park in Oxford and game two of the Class 6A baseball series starting at 10 a.m. at Jim Case Stadium in Jacksonville.
There is a chance of rain starting at 3 a.m. Friday going throughout the day, but a chance of thunderstorms starts around 6 p.m. and last through Saturday evening.
