WATCH: Welcome to Boston, Nik Stauskas – 2021-22 G League highlights

The Boston Celtics surprised their fans with news they had signed NBA veteran and recent G League star Nik Stauskas to a two year contract soon after the team beat the Memphis Grizzlies 120 – 107 at TD Garden Thursday night, most likely on the strength of the Canadian guard’s excellent play with the Denver Nuggets’ developmental affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold.

Stauskas has been lighting it up at the G League level, putting up 23.8 points, 5.8 boards, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 48% from the field, 42% from deep, and 88% from the charity stripe for Grand Rapids in 26 games played with that team this season.

If you want to get familiar with how this motion shooter with size at 6-foot-6 could perhaps help the Celtics, check out this clip from YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski embedded below.
