New Orleans Saints fans will be hoping to see this sequence repeated often in the regular season. Two former first-round draft picks teamed up for a big play against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sunday night’s preseason game — defensive end Payton Turner brought pressure to sack Chargers quarterback Easton Stick, forcing the ball out of Stick’s hands on his way to the turf.

And rookie defensive tackle Bryan Bresee hustled to fall on the loose ball for a New Orleans fumble recovery. Both young linemen need to create more plays like this as summer turns to fall, so it’s very encouraging to see them working so well together against an opponent in a live game. Hopefully they can keep it up.
