Watch: Ja Morant gifts Memphis Grizzlies teammates with pair of Ja 1's

Ja Morant had a special gift waiting for the Memphis Grizzlies before the trip to Charlotte.

The star point guard gave his teammates pairs of Nike Ja 1's after practice Friday. The team received the Chinese New Year Ja 1's, which were released to select retailers on Jan. 3.

"On behalf of me and Nike, I'm gifting y'all a pair of Chinese New Year Ja 1's," Morant said. "I hope y'all like them. One of my top pair, so it was nice to be able to gift it to y'all."

He announced on Christmas Day 2022 the debut of his signature sneaker. Since then, Nike has released several colorways of the Ja 1.

Morant is out for the season after having surgery to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder. He hasn't played since a Jan. 5 Grizzlies win against the Los Angeles Lakers.
