Watch former Texas Tech baseball star Josh Jung hit 2-run HR for Texas Rangers in ALCS

Josh Jung found another opportunity to make an impact for the Texas Rangers on Wednesday in the third game of the American League Championship series.

The former Texas Tech infielder, and third baseman, who showed off his defensive prowess at the hot corner to save an extra-best hit in the previous contest against the Houston Astros, used his bat to inject some energy into the fans in attendance at Globe Life Field in Arlington.

With his team down 5-0 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, Jung connected on a 1-2 pitch that he sent into the home bullpen for a two-run home run to close Texas' deficit to three runs. The opposite-field home run was hit off right-handed pitcher Cristian Javier of the Astros.

Jung connected on his second two-run home run in the seventh inning, to cut the Rangers deficit to 7-4 before the Astros added an insurance run to put things at 8-4 in the eighth.

The Rangers lead the American League Championship Series 2-0 after winning the first two contests against Houston at Minute Maid Park. The Astros won 8-5 on Tuesday to close the series gap to 2-1.

Game four is set for 7:03 p.m. on Thursday at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The contest is scheduled to be televised on FOX Sports 1.
