How to watch Detroit Tigers prospects Spencer Torkelson, Riley Greene for free

Get your glimpse now, Detroit Tigers fans.

MiLB.tv, which usually requires a subscription, is now free until the end of the season.

That means some nights Tigers fans can watch Casey Mize, Akil Baddoo and the Tigers while also streaming Riley Greene, Spencer Torkelson and the Toledo Mud Hens; take in a Tarik Skubal abbreviated start then tune into Reese Olson, Dillon Dingler and the Erie SeaWolves.

Double-A, High-A and Low-A games will be free starting Tuesday. The Triple-A Final Stretch — that level's new end-of-season format running Tuesday-Oct. 3 — is also free viewing.

Of course, we mention Greene, 20, and Torkelson, 22, first because of their flashes of star potential.

Greene, who turned 21 later this month, is slashing .295/.380/.932 in 26 games at Toledo.

In 167 career minor-league games, Greene .288/.369/.857 with 27 home runs, 29 doubles, 10 triples and 19 stolen bases. He's struck out 200 times and drawn 76 walks.

Torkelson, a 22-year-old who joined Greene in Triple-A last month, is slashing .228/.336/.831 in 26 games for the Mud Hens. He was the top pick in the 2020 draft as a slugging infielder from Arizona State.

His full-season numbers are more impressive at .268/.384/.930 with 26 homers in 107 games among three different levels.
