Watch Cleveland Cavs' Max Strus hit a game-winning half-court shot to sink the Mavs
In a wild ending against the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday night, a game-winning buzzer-beater from beyond half court from Max Strus was the difference for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Down 117-118, the Mavericks nearly had the inbound pass stolen away before Luka Doncic recovered and got the ball to P.J. Washington who finished at the rim through contact to give Dallas a 119-118 lead.
From there, Strus inbounded the ball for Cleveland, got it back and promptly launched a 59-foot heave from beyond half court at the buzzer. And, well, the result was a game-winning swish.

According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon via X (previously Twitter), Strus' game-winning heave was officially logged at 59 feet. That's the second-longest game-winner in the 3-point era.

In the postgame interview, Strus noted that All-Star Donovan Mitchell was not in the game, so someone else needed to step up.
