WATCH: Chris Olave snags 42-yard one-handed reception vs. Panthers

Now this is impressive. The New Orleans Saints offense didn’t create many highlight reel-worthy plays early on against the Carolina Panthers on Monday night — but Chris Olave came through when they needed him in the third quarter. And he did it in spectacular fashion.

Lined up against backup corner C.J. Henderson on a route running deep downfield, Olave fought through the physical coverage to get a hand on the pass from Derek Carr while running at full speed. And it initially bounced off his mitt and into the air. But Henderson released Olave’s right arm to avoid a penalty, freeing Olave to secure the catch on his way to the turf.

It was a masterful play, and even more impressive than the 45-yard catch-and-go that Olave logged last week given the higher degree of difficulty. The Saints will go need more big plays from him to get where they want to go this year.
