How to watch, buy tickets for the 2023 Iowa high school state track championships
As the school year winds down, some of Iowa’s best high school athletes will compete in Des Moines at this year’s state track and field meet.
The state meet takes place over three days, Thursday through Saturday, at Drake Stadium this week. There will be four classes of competition this year. Wheelchair events will also be held during the meet.
Before you make your way over to the stadium to check out the events, here are a few things you should know about this year’s state track and field meet.
When is the 2023 Iowa high school state track meet?
This year’s meet will begin on May 18 and culminate with championship events on May 20.
Each day, the schedule of events will begin at 9 a.m. and all events will be held at Drake Stadium.
Will parking be available for the 2023 Iowa high school state track meet?
Yes. Spectators may choose from of several options. Lot 1 is located between 24th and 25th streets near the Boys & Girls Club. Lot 33 is located near Forest Avenue.
The cost of parking is $10.

Where can I buy tickets for the Iowa high school state track meet?
Spectators can now purchase tickets for this year's state track meeting. The price of admission is $10. Tickets must be purchased for each day of events.

Iowa high school state track meet event schedule
Each day, events will begin at 9 a.m.
On Thursday, Class 1A and Class 4A are slated to begin competition in the morning. Class 2A and Class 3A will compete on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.

The start times for each event are approximate, according to the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

How to watch the 2023 Iowa state track meet
If you're not able to make your way over to Drake Stadium for this year's events, you can still watch the state's top athletes compete.
The 2023 Iowa High School Track & Field Championships will be broadcasted online by the Iowa High School Sports Network. You can see the heats as they happen on the IHSSN website or using the Watch IHSSN app.
The live stream is slated to start at 9 a.m. each day of the meet.
The 2023 Iowa High School Track & Field Championships will also be televised by Mediacom (MC-22) and other select IHSSN cable affiliates.
The Des Moines Register will also have a live blog that will be updated in real-time with all the latest news and results from Drake Stadium each day of the event.
