Watch: Adrian Peterson knocked out by Le’Veon Bell in boxing match

Former Tennessee Titans running back Adrian Peterson took part in a boxing match against fellow former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell on Saturday night, and things did not end well for Peterson.

The event, which was called “Social Gloves: No More Talk”, featured Bell and Peterson as the two biggest names on the card.

In the fifth and final round of their match, Bell landed a nasty right hand to the head of Peterson, who hit the deck after the big blow. Peterson was able to get up, but he was clearly dazed, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

“I appreciate everybody’s love and support, for real,” Bell said after the fight, per ESPN’s Myron Medcalf. “That’s really what kept me going. Honestly, all the hate… that motivates me.”

Bell, who has not officially retired from the NFL, has said in the past he intends to pursue a career in boxing. So far, he’s off to a good start.

As for Peterson, he remains a free agent and has yet to officially retire, also. He appeared in three games (two starts) for the Titans in 2021 in the wake of Derrick Henry’s injury. He also played in one game for the Seattle Seahawks.
