Washington RB Sankey to enter NFL Draft

Washington running back Bishop Sankey will forego his final season of college eligibility and enter the 2014 NFL Draft, ESPN reported Monday.

"The time is right," Sankey said. "I've proven what I needed to prove. I have to look at the position I play and the number of carries."

Sankey rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns in Washington's Fight Hunger Bowl victory over Brigham Young and finished the season with 1,870 yards and 20 touchdowns.

He is projected to be a second-round draft pick by NFLDraftScout.com, which ranks Sankey as the No. 3 running back prospect and the No. 54 prospect overall.
