Warriors' Steve Kerr: Kevin Durant out for Game 3, Klay Thompson 'day-to-day' but practicing
The Golden State Warriors are becoming more and more short-handed by the game this NBA Finals stretch. They evened the series with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night despite Klay Thompson joining Kevin Durant off the court with an injury.
Their status for Game 3, to be played Wednesday night back at Oracle Arena, wasn’t clear when a hint was revealed early Tuesday afternoon via media availability news. Per Marc J. Spears at ESPN, Klay Thompson will speak to the media but Kevin Durant will not.
As Newsday writer Greg Logan put it, for now it’s “just reading tea leaves.” The tea leaves turned out correct as head coach Steve Kerr announced an hour later Durant is out for Game 3 and Thompson is day-to-day. He said the star is officially down as questionable.

Thompson was shooting around Tuesday at practice.
Klay is still questionable for Game 3, but he's looking good at shootaround.

Durant has been out since the Western Conference semifinals and was ruled out for Game 2 as he continues to progress from a calf injury.
Sources told Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes last week Durant is expected back at some point midway through the finals — which is right about now.
Thompson suffered a mild left hamstring strain and was listed as questionable. He scored the team’s first nine points and totaled 25 in the win. He said he didn’t see himself missing a game.
The team is also without Kevon Looney, who broke his collarbone in Game 2.
