Another grand slam from Quincy Hamilton pushes Hooks past RockHounds on Sunday

Highlights: The RockHounds broke out with four runs in the first inning as two bases loaded walks from Hooks starter Adrian Chaidez brought in two r uns and JJ Schwarz and Lozaro Armenteros drove in the other. Corpus Christi, though, battled back with two runs in their half of the first with a two-run home run from Joey Loperfido. The Hooks tallied single runs in the fourth and eighth, and the RockHounds scored the eventual winning run in the fourth. Gordon was stellar on the mound in relief, pitching five scoreless innings.

Highlights: The RockHounds rolled to their first win of the series to snap the Hooks' three-game winning streak. Midland did its damage against Corpus Christi's bullpen by scoring five runs in the sixth inning, five in the eighth and one in the ninth. The RockHounds outhit the Hooks 12-3 behind Lawrence Butler and Shane McGuire, who combined for five hits and six RBI. Shay Whitcomb drove in the Hooks' only run on an RBI double in the second inning.

Highlights: Hooks starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti pitched five scoreless innings to help the Hooks preserve a shutout victory against the RockHounds at Whataburger Field. Corpus Christi's bullpen tossed four shutout innings and limited Midland to one hit in the final four frames. Joey Loperfido and Quincy Hamilton each recorded RBIs for the Hooks, who are now 19-22.

Highlights: The Hooks rallied by scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the RockHounds in come-from-behind fashion at Whataburger Field. Quincy Hamilton started the comeback in the ninth by hitting a solo home run to cut the deficit in half and Kenedy Corona tied the game on an RBI single. After Midland walked Shay Whitcomb and Joey Loperfido, Will Wagner hit a game-winning RBI single to win the game for Corpus Christi. The Hooks scored all of their ninth inning runs with nobody out to give Julio Robaina his third win of the season. Robaina pitched the final four frames for Corpus Christi and allowed one run with six strikeouts. The Hooks have now won two consecutive games in walk-off fashion.
