Vote for The Oklahoman's Landmark Fine Homes fall high school athletes of the week

Voting for The Oklahoman's high school athlete of the week poll presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now open for Aug. 27-Sept. 2 in cross country, fastpitch softball and volleyball. Fans can vote until noon Friday.

Last week's winners were Mustang's Cameron Langdon (boys cross country), Choctaw's Kristen Kirk (girls cross country), Moore's Makiah Neal (fastpitch softball) and Bishop McGuinness' Clare Kierl (volleyball).

Here are this week's nominees.

Boys cross country

Mez Barth, Jr., Stillwater: He won the elite boys five-kilometer race at Carl Albert’s meet Friday with a time of 16 minutes, 15.61 seconds.

Aidan Jimenez, Sr., Moore: He placed second behind Barth at Carl Albert’s meet, completing the run in 16:32.75.

Cole Powell, Sr., Bethany: He placed second at Kingfisher’s meet Saturday, finishing in 17:10.03. Bethany won in the team standings.

Girls cross country

Kamryn Boller, Sr., Guthrie: She placed third in the elite girls five-kilometer run at Carl Albert’s meet with a time of 20:05.86.

Daigan Miller, Sr., Minco: She won at Meeker’s meet Thursday as she completed her two-mile race in 13:12.

Scout Snodgrass, So., Kingfisher: She won her home meet Saturday, completing the two-mile run in 12:28.47. Her performance helped Kingfisher place first in the team standings.

Fastpitch softball

Serenity Jacoway, Sr., Tecumseh: She had two shutout wins in the circle as Class 4A Tecumseh beat North Rock Creek 2-0 last Monday and Mannford 1-0 on Tuesday. Jacoway, a UTEP commit, is 11-0 this season and has a .520 batting average as the team’s leadoff hitter.

Madalynn Shotwell, Sr., Stillwater: Shotwell had three hits and four RBI during the past week, most recently contributing to Stillwater's 8-0 victory against Ponca City.

Volleyball

MacKenzi Bass, Jr., Mount St. Mary: Bass had 26 digs and finished 14-15 serving with two aces as the Rockets swept rival Bishop McGuinness.

Skylar Brady, So., Bethany: Brady recorded 17 kills and six aces during the past week as Bethany maintained its undefeated record.

Victoria Gray, Sr., Community Christian: Gray had 14 kills and nine aces with a 0.591 hitting percentage in last week’s win against Southwest Covenant. Then she added nine kills and 18 digs against Christian Heritage as Community Christian stayed undefeated.

Annie Hopkins, So., Edmond Memorial: Hopkins provided 14 kills with a .600 hitting average as Edmond Memorial defeated Jenks in straight sets.
