Vote for the SouthCoast High School Girls Athlete of the Week for May 13-19
The winner of last week’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll was Old Colony’s McKenna Benoit. She had more than 6,000 votes (70%) to receive the honor.
Benoit scored four goals against Southeastern.
Previous winners were Apponequet’s Kohana Fontinha, Abby Bradley and Jayleigh Howarth, Bishop Stang’s Sofie Doucet and Old Rochester’s Neva Matos. The winner of the Preseason Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Casalice Dias. The winner of the Preseason Girls Tennis Player of the Year poll was Old Rochester’s Neva Matos.

GIRLS TRACK
Madalyn Duarte, GNB Voc-Tech
Duarte won the mile (5:28.21) at the South Coast Conference Meet of Champions.
Delilah Post, Old Rochester
At the South Coast Conference Meet of Champions, Post took first in the 400 hurdles (1:11.17) and second in the 400 (1:05.21).
Audrey Thomas, Old Rochester
Thomas took first in the 400 (58.53) at the South Coast Conference Meet of Champions.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Abby Bradley, Apponequet
Bradley had a combined nine goals in two games for the Lakers.
Cece Levrault, Apponequet
In two games, Levrault had a combined nine goals.
Bella Batista, Bishop Stang
In two games, Batista had a combined 24 saves.
Grace Haskell, Dartmouth
In a pair of games against Old Rochester and New Bedford, Haskell had a combined 13 goals.
Sarah Kelly, Dartmouth
In three games, Kelly had a combined 10 goals and three assists.
Sophia Fleurent, Fairhaven
Fleurent had a team-high three goals against Apponequet.
Hannah Blanchard, New Bedford
In two games, Blanchard had a combined five goals.
Abby Pitts, Old Colony
Pitts notched 10 goals in a win over Tri-County.
Kelly Quinlan, Old Rochester
Against Dartmouth, Quinlan had four goals, including the 200th of her career.

GIRLS TENNIS

Fontinha won both of her first singles matches against Dartmouth and Dighton-Rehoboth.
Cami Taradash, Dartmouth
Taradash won her two second singles matches against Apponequet and Brockton.
Elizabeth DaCunha, Fairhaven
DaCunha won her first singles matches against Seekonk and Case.
Neva Matos, Old Rochester
Matos won her first singles matches against Dartmouth and Somerset Berkley.
Brooklyn Bindas, Wareham
Bindas won her first singles match against Carver and Westport by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
