Vote for the SouthCoast High School Boys Athlete of the Week for May 6-12

The winner of last week’s Boys Athlete of the Week poll was Old Colony’s Brody Darling. He had 59% of the vote to receive the honor.

In a pair of games against South Shore and Blue Hills, Darling had a combined seven goals.

Previous winners were Fairhaven’s Kole Pinto, Apponequet’s Jake Cusson and Wareham’s Ty-Rell Pires. The winner of the Preseason Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was Old Colony’s Stu Burnham. The winner of the Preseason Boys Tennis Player of the Year poll was Fairhaven’s Kole Pinto.

BOYS LACROSSE

Jake Cusson, Apponequet

In back-to-back wins, Cusson had a combined five goals and 10 assists.

Colin McKay, Apponequet

McKay had a combined five goals and three assists in two games.

Kenny Wisniewski, Apponequet

In two games, Wisniewski had a combined nine goals and three assists. He recorded his 150th career goal against Fairhaven.

Eli Ikkela, Bishop Stang

In two games, Ikkela had a combined six goals.

Jett Carbone, Bishop Stang

Carbone had a combined five goals and one assist in two games.

Bryce Desirey, Dartmouth

In two games, Desirey had a combined four goals.

Jackson Hart, Dartmouth

Hart had a combined four goals in two games.

Lennox Massucco, Dartmouth

Massucco had a combined four goals in two games.

Justin Marques, Fairhaven

In three games, Marques had a combined two goals and three assists.

Barrett Becotte, Fairhaven

Becotte had a team-high four goals against Martha’s Vineyard and added a pair of goals against Apponequet.

Nathan Pearson, GNB Voc-Tech

Pearson had a combined four goals and two assists in a pair of games

Brody Darling, Old Colony

Against Southeastern, Darling recorded one assist and four goals to record his 100th career points. He also had two goals and two assists against Westport.

Luke Meelia, Old Colony

Meelia had a combined six goals and three assists in a pair of games against Tri-County and Southeastern.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Aryen Rodriguez, GNB Voc-Tech

In a pair of matches against Norton and Essex, Rodriguez had a combined 40 assists and 16 digs.

Colin Stuessi, GNB Voc-Tech

In three matches, Stuessi had a combined 36 kills. He also had 14 digs against Essex.

Carter Barbosa, New Bedford

Barbosa had a combined 80 assists and 24 digs in three games for the undefeated Whalers.

Juan Grau Montano, New Bedford

Montano had a combined 29 kills in three games.

BOYS TENNIS

Will Horton, Apponequet

Horton won his first singles matches against New Bedford and Fairhaven.

Brian Ward, Bishop Stang

Ward won his first singles matches against Middleboro and St. Mary’s.

Kole Pinto, Fairhaven

Pinto won his first singles matches against Bourne and Diman.
