Vote for the SouthCoast High School Baseball Player of the Week for May 13-19

The winner of last week’s Baseball Player of the Week poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Jack Anderson. He had more than 5,000 votes (43%) to receive the honor.

Anderson went the distance, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out eight against Old Rochester.

Previous winners were Bishop Stang’s Landon Cardoza, Fairhaven’s Scott Joseph and Nikko Morris, Old Colony’s Marc Donati and New Bedford’s Brent Sharples. The winner of the Preseason Baseball Player of the Year poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Illiam Santiago.

'We don’t talk about it': Apponequet baseball is the No. 1 team in Div. 3

Caiden Cyr, Apponequet

Cyr picked up the win over Dighton-Rehoboth in relief, pitching 3 ⅓ innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five. In three games, he had a combined three hits and two runs scored.

Nathan Levesque, Apponequet

In a 1-0 win over Somerset Berkley, Levesque pitched a complete-game eight-inning shutout, striking out 13 while scattering four hits and one walk. In wins over Dighton-Rehoboth and Old Rochester, Levesque had a combined seven hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Conor Trip, Apponequet

Trip drove in the winning run in the booth of the eighth inning to give the Lakers a 1-0 walkoff win over Somerset Berkley.

Trey Becker, Bishop Stang

In a win over Bishop Feehan, Becker pitched 4 ⅓ innings in relief for his first varsity win.

Matt Burt, Bishop Stang

Not only did Burt have a combined five hits and one RBI against Bishop Feehan and Durfee, he went five innings, throwing just 70 pitches for the shutout win against Bishop Fenwick. He also went 4-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs.

Landon Cardoza, Bishop Stang

Cardoza went 8 ⅓ innings, allowing one run on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts for Stang in a 1-0 loss to Durfee.

Drew Taylor, Bishop Stang

In games against Bishop Feehan and Bishop Fenwick, Taylor went a combined 5-for-6 with four RBIs and four runs scored.

Ethan Jason, Dartmouth

Jason earned the win over Brockton as he allowed three hits and one run over five innings while striking out five and walking one.

Ian Rego, Dartmouth

In a win over GNB Voc-Tech, Rego went six innings, allowing three hits while striking out seven and walking three.

Colby Correia, Fairhaven

In a 2-1 loss to Barnstable, Correia went 5 ⅔ innings, allowing two unearned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out 10.

Chase Feno, Fairhaven

Feno went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and had the walk-off hit to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning against Seekonk.

Jason Perry, Fairhaven

In a win over Seekonk, Perrya went four shutout innings with seven strikeouts.

Sam Simone, Fairhaven

Simone scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning against Seekonk and went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Boston Bettencourt, GNB Voc-Tech

Bettencourt stole home in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Bears past Southeastern 5-4.

Cam Cabral, GNB Voc-Tech

In a loss to Dighton-Rehoboth, Cabral went seven innings, striking out eight.

Jhaden Reis, GNB Voc-Tech

Reis pitched the Bears to win over Southeastern and Bourne, with a combined 14 strikeouts. He also had two hits against the Canalmen and one against Dartmouth.

Jaren Goodine, New Bedford

In his return from injury, Goodine had three hits and an RBI in a win over B-R.

JT Goodine, New Bedford

Goodine had two hits and three RBIs, including the game-winner in the 10th inning of a 4-3 win over Bridgewater-Raynham.

Colin Mello, Old Rochester

Mello had a combined four hits and three walks in three games for the Bulldogs.
