South Bend Washington's Steven Reynolds III voted Tribune Boys Basketball Preseason Player of the Year
Congratulations to South Bend Washington sophomore Steven Reynolds III for winning the Tribune Boys Basketball Preseason Player of the Year vote.
Reynolds took home the majority of the vote against nine other players. It gives Washington winners in both of our preseason player of the year polls, as Panthers junior Monique Mitchell won the girls basketball vote at the start of November.

WINNER: South Bend Washington sophomore Steven Reynolds III
Reynolds was second on the Panthers in scoring last year with a 13.3 points per game average. He also added around four rebounds and an assist per contest as well while shooting 35% from 3-point range.
OTHER NOMINEES
Bethany Christian senior Tyson Chupp
The recent Bethel College (Kansas) commit averaged 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game last year for a Bruins team that won a Class 1A sectional title.
John Glenn senior Joseph Chrapliwy
Chrapliwy was a key player for the regional champion Falcons last year, averaging 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.4 assists per game.
LaVille junior Collin Czarnecki
Czarnecki was one of the best scorers in the area last year, averaging 19.2 points per game. He also had five rebounds, two assists and one steal per contest on average.
Northridge junior Mason Bales
Bales averaged 12.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game for a Raiders team that made it to a 4A sectional championship game last season.
NorthWood junior Tyler Raasch
Raasch anchored the defense for the 3A state champion Panthers, leading the team with 7.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game last year. He also scored just under 10 points a contest.
South Bend Clay sophomore Tyrese Jones
Jones had a productive freshman campaign, averaging 11.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, two assists and two steals per game for the Colonials.
South Bend Riley junior Marvin Schindler
It was a strong sophomore season for Schindler, averaging 15.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
South Bend Saint Joseph junior Chase Konieczny
Konieczny was a second team all-area selection by the Tribune last year, leading his team in points (19) and rebounds (6.4) per game.
Saint Joseph senior Jayce Lee
While he’s more known for his baseball skills, Lee is good on the basketball court as well, averaging 13.9 points and 4.1 rebounds as a junior last year.
