Vote for the Oklahoma City-area girls high school athlete of the week

The Oklahoman's winter sport athletes of the week poll for Jan. 30-Feb. 5 presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now live at oklahoman.com.

The Oklahoman is also introducing polls for a girls team of the week and a boys team of the week.

Voting is open until noon Sunday. You don't have to be a subscriber to vote, and you can cast one vote every hour, per device.

The winners of the Jan. 23-29 poll were Ava McIntyre of Oklahoma Christian School girls basketball and Tatum McDaniel of Newcastle girls wrestling.

Girls teams of the week

Bethany basketball: The top-ranked Class 4A Bronchos extended their win streak to seven games in dominant fashion. During the past week, Bethany defeated its three opponents by an average margin of 58 points.

Choctaw basketball: The Yellowjackets won two close games to continue their reign as the sole undefeated Class 6A team. Choctaw slipped past Broken Arrow, 48-46, before claiming a 48-45 victory over Bixby.

Midwest City basketball: The Bombers are 10-0 in district play after picking up a couple of wins last week. Midwest City stormed past John Marshall, 103-41, before defeating rival Del City, 47-44.

Shawnee swimming: The Wolves have claimed two straight Class 5A state titles. After winning the East Regional in Jenks on Friday, they’ll try to stay on top at the state meet later this month.

Westmoore wrestling: The Jaguars are ranked No. 5 in Class 6A and have a perfect record in duals this season.

Girls basketball

Keziah Lofton, Jr., Bethany: Lofton, an OU commit, averaged 25.3 points per game through three overwhelming wins. She made 32 of 53, or 60.4%, of her field-goal attempts. Lofton also provided 12 steals and nine assists despite averaging only 19.5 minutes per game because of the Bronchos’ large leads.

Keeley Parks, Jr., Norman: With 29 points and five steals, Parks engineered Norman’s 42-37 comeback against Edmond Santa Fe. She scored all but three of the Tigers’ second-half points. Later in the week, Parks had 29 points, eight rebounds and eight steals in a win against Northwest Classen.

Adriana Radinovic, Fr., Deer Creek: Radinovic turned in a double-double as Deer Creek upset Putnam North, 54-50. The 6-foot-3 freshman had an efficient game, shooting 11-for-12 from the field with 23 points and 15 rebounds.

Tylyn Thurman, Sr., Shawnee: Thurman led the Wolves with 20 points in a 51-25 rout of Crossings Christian, giving Shawnee coach Wendi Wells her 300th win. Thurman made six 3-pointers, setting the tone with three in the first quarter.

Girls swimming 

Kaida Bradley, So., Norman: A victory in the 500 freestyle (5:18.59) was the highlight for Bradley on Saturday at the Class 6A West Regional in Edmond.

Macy Lewis, Sr., Bishop McGuinness: A Texas A&M signee, this is Lewis’ first year in Class 6A. She had a strong showing at the West Regional, winning the 100 backstroke (56.93) and 100 butterfly (58.19).

Avery Littlefield, Sr., Stillwater: The LSU signee won the 50 freestyle (23.29) and 100 freestyle (51.42) and helped Stillwater claim the title in the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.36) at the Class 6A East Regional in Jenks on Saturday.

Clara Timmons, Sr., Shawnee: She placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:44.97) and was a member of Shawnee’s 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay teams that won with times of 1:50.20 and 4:02.87, respectively, at the Class 5A East Regional in Jenks on Friday. Shawnee claimed the team title.
