Marcelle Seckin voted North Jersey Girls Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 1-7

After four days of voting, IHA junior Marcelle Seckin was selected as the North Jersey Girls Cross-Country Runner of the Week.

Seckin led the Blue Eagles to a ninth straight Big North United title and a 1-5 sweep of the division by winning the individual title by more than a minute.

Here were the other nominees:

Christina Allen

River Dell Senior

Allen became just the second runner to win four Big North divisional titles when she took the Patriot division race on Wednesday at Darlington. She became the fastest girl at Darlington this year in the process.

Ciara Clinton

West Milford Sophomore

Clinton scored two more victories in four days last week, bringing her season to five titles. She won the Big North Independence race at Darlington Wednesday and the North Jersey championship race at Garret Mountain on Saturday.

Viktoria Green

Clifton senior

Green led the Mustangs to a continuation of their dominance of the Big North Liberty division by winning the individual title.

Elena Guzman

Teaneck senior

Guzman became the first Highwaywoman girl to win a league title of any kind when she captured the Big North National title on Thursday. It's her first year of cross-country running.

Isabel Michel

Bogota senior

The Bucs repeated as the undefeated NJIC Patriot champions behind their only senior, who blew away the field in the individual race at Garret Mountain.

Katelyn Reuter

Dumont junior

Reuter became the Huskies first Big North American champion since 2016 and then finished a strong seventh in the North Jersey championships four days later.
