Passaic voted North Jersey Football Team of the Week for Week 6

After four days of voting, Passaic was selected as the North Jersey Football Team of the Week.

The Indians (3-4) stretched their winning streak over next-door neighbor Kennedy to four with a 27-6 victory. Justin Griffin rushed for 151 yards and two second-half TDs. Marlon Torres opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 52-yard TD run, and Shareef Griggs also ran for a score.

Here were the other nominees:

Becton

The Wildcats (4-2) snapped a two-game losing streak behind a 41-14 victory over New Milford. Jonathan Palsi rushed for 171 yards and three TDs and passed for 100 yards and a score. Jalen Powell ran for 71 yards and two TDs and caught a 47-yard scoring pass from Palsi.

Butler

The Bulldogs (5-1) secured a winning season for the ninth time in 10 years behind a 41-14 victory over Lyndhurst. Kyle Perry rushed for 124 yards and three TDs. Bobby Battipede threw for 144 yards and a TD and ran for 69 yards and a score. Mikey Henehan paced a balanced defense with five tackles.

Dumont

The Huskies (3-3) remained in the chase for their third consecutive winning season with a 28-7 victory over Parsippany. Michael Gil threw for 242 yards, featuring two TD passes to Jacob Pla and one to Josiah Guzman. Richie Redfern opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 15-yard TD run.

Dwight Morrow

The Maroon Raiders (4-1) won New Jersey’s highest-scoring game of the week, 46-36, over Fort Lee. Jordan Moorer ran for two TDs, caught a scoring pass, and returned an interception for a score. Damani Williams opened the scoring on a 42-yard TD run and threw scoring passes of 75 and 30 yards.

Ramsey

The Rams (3-4) beat rival and next-door neighbor Mahwah, 17-14, on the final play of the game. Kyle McGuire kicked an 18-yard field goal as time expired. Justus Favata threw TD passes of 13 and 28 yards to Roberto Cotes to erase a 7-0 deficit. Luca Gemma rushed for 189 yards and had 12 tackles.

Waldwick/Midland Park

The Warriors (5-1) handed Park Ridge its first loss, 22-20. Alex Caserta threw for 137 yards, featuring a 13-yard TD pass to Bryce Hamilton. Caserta also ran for 74 yards and two scores. Ryan Fleming had five catches for 113 yards. Charlie Schierolh and Dylan Ferrara each had 10 tackles.

Wayne Valley

The Indians (3-4) continued their comeback from an 0-4 start with a 30-21 victory over Passaic Valley. Danny Ferrauilo threw for 144 yards, including two TD passes. Bryce Flower caught a 25-yard TD pass from Brian Blake and a 15-yard score from Ferrauilo. Blake opened the scoring on a 2-yard run.
