Sparta golfer Claire Sehnert voted Morris/Sussex Athlete of the Week
After four days of voting, Sparta senior golfer Claire Sehnert was selected as the Morris/Sussex Athlete of the Week.
Sehnert hit a hole-in-one on the 105-yard 13th hole at Lake Mohawk Golf Club on May 21. She totaled 56 as Sparta lost to Jefferson. Sehnert also competed in the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference girls golf tournament last week.

Olivia Gaglione
Morris Knolls freshman golfer
Gaglione shot an 8-over 42 to capture the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference girls golf title by a single stroke, helping Morris Knolls place second in its inaugural season.
Veer Gupta
Morris Hills junior second singles
Gupta made Morris Hills history last week, becoming the first boy to play in a Morris County Tournament final – and will be the first to qualify for the NJSIAA Tournament at second singles. Gupta, a Parsippany resident, lost to Delbarton freshman Adi Somaiya, 6-4, 6-4. He also won three matches in the Scarlet Knights' dual matches against Mendham, Sparta and Bergenfield in the first round of the NJSIAA team tournament.

Gabrielle Heim
Sparta senior pitcher
Heim allowed nine hits, five walks and four runs (two earned), striking out 27, over 18 innings as Sparta went 2-1, including a no hitter against Bergenfield in the NJSIAA North 1, Group 3 opener. At the plate, Heim went 5-for-7 with walk and an RBI.
Laney Keates
Kittatinny senior midfielder
Keates had four goals and an assist, seven draw controls, a forced turnover and eight ground balls in Kittatinny's 20-12 loss to Verona in a Group 1 North opener.
Jack Martinez
Morris Knolls senior attack
Martinez had seven goals and four assists as Morris Knolls beat Glen Rock and North Hunterdon, tying Morris Knolls' single-season record with 51 goals and becoming just the second player at the school to reach 200 career points.
Ivory Piskula
Morris Hills junior distance runner
Piskula won the 1,600 at Delbarton's Distance Night in 4:58.97. Piskula is the first Morris County girl under five minutes this spring, 11th in New Jersey.
Sarina Sanders
Wallkill Valley senior sprinter/jumper
Sanders won the long jump and triple jump and finished second in the 200 meters at the Sussex County Invitational on May 22.
Jack Veith
Wallkill Valley senior outfielder/pitcher
Veith was 2-for-3 with a double, three walks, an RBI and three runs scored as Wallkill Valley defeated Montville and Waldwick. The double was Veith's 127th career hit, breaking Wallkill Valley's record.

Ellie Williams
Whippany Park senior pitcher/third base
Williams was 6-for-7 with two doubles, two triples two walks, a stolen base, four runs scored and five RBI as Whippany Park defeated Morristown and Bard. She pitched five scoreless innings in the Wildcats' 17-0 win against Bard, allowing three hits and walking three while striking out seven in the North 2, Group 1 opener.
Max Yanagi
Lenape Valley junior sprinter/jumper
Yanagi tied his own school triple jump record (43-5½) to win at the Sussex County Invitational. He also finished fourth in the 100 meters (PR 11.44).
