Vote for Mississippi boys high school athlete of the week for Aug. 28-Sept. 2

There were several top performers across the state in boys high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week for Aug. 28- Sept. 2.

Boys nominations

Omarean Ellis, Jackson Academy: Ellis helped led Jackson Academy to a 4-0 start by rushing for 100 yards on nine carries. He scored two touchdowns in a 51-0 victory over Silliman Institute. Ellis is averaging over 130 yards rushing per game.

Rhett Murphy, Germantown: Murphy was 12-of-21 for 233 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-20 victory over Canton.

Carter Wilson, Christian Academy: Wilson rushed for over 200 yards and scored three touchdowns in leading Clinton Christian Academy to a 41-6 victory over Riverfield Academy.

HARD RUNNING: Madison Central football defeats Brandon despite best effort from running back Nate Blount

Nate Blount, Brandon: Blount rushed for 134 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 40-26 losing effort to Madison Central.
