Vote for Mississippi boys and girls high school athlete of the week May 15-22

There were several top performers across the state in boys and girls high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week for May 15-22

Boys nominations

Dawson Hall, Gulfport: Hall had a game-winning RBI to help the Admirals win 6-5 in Game 1 of the MHSAA Class 6A semifinals along with a grand slam in the series clinching 12-11 victory on Monday.

JoJo Parker, Purvis: Parker went 2-of-3 with a home run and allowed two hits with six strikeouts as Purvis defeated Sumrall 8-0 in Game 1 of the MHSAA Class 4A semifinals.

Drake Douglas, Saltillo: The senior had a complete-game and allowed one hit with six strikeouts in Game 1 of the Class 5A semifinals against Ridgeland. Douglas also went 4-of-7 with three RBIs in the series.

Camden Clark, West Jones: The junior allowed seven hits and one run with nine strikeouts in West Jones' 2-1 victory over East Central on Monday. Clark also went 1-of-3 at the plate.

Girls nominations

Hallie Burns, Booneville: The Ole Miss signee had a complete game, allowing only three hits and recording 10 strikeouts in Booneville's Game 1 victory over West Marion. She also allowed four hits in six innings along with 11 strikeouts in Booneville's 7-4 victory over West Marion to clinch the state title.

Lucy Cochran, East Union: The eight grader had three hits, including two doubles and an RBI in East Union's 3-1 championship clinching victory over Loyd Star. She had 10 strikeouts in Game 1.

Sidnee Beech, George County: The junior went 4-for-for in Game 1 and delivered with the game-winning RBI in Thursday's 2-1 victory over Saltillo to win the Class 5A title.

Mabry Eason, West Lauderdale: The sophomore had a no-hitter with five strikeouts along with a home run and four RBIs in West Lauderdale's Class 4A championship clinching 11-0 victory over North Pike.
