Meet this week's Louisville-area high school athlete of the week from Whitefield Academy
Whitefield Academy’s Allison Spieker is your athlete of the week after a huge game against Christian Academy last Thursday. The senior scored 23 points in the Wildcats’ 70-55 win over the Centurions. Spieker has committed to play for Bethel University next season.
Assumption senior Taryn Morris finished second in this week’s poll.

Destiny Jones, Central, basketball
Central High senior Destiny Jones was in her bag last week. The forward dropped 35 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Yellow Jackets' 85-9 blowout win against Presentation. She came back the following game against Eastern and scored 18 points and added seven rebounds in Central's 92-15 victory.
Mariah Knight, Butler, basketball
Butler senior Mariah Knight dominated in last Tuesday's game against Bullitt East. Knight notched a double-double (16 points and 12 rebounds) in the Bearettes' 49-31 win over the Chargers.
Taryn Morris, Assumption, basketball
Assumption senior Taryn Morris had an exceptional week on the court for the Rockets. Morris had a 22-point game in the Rockets' 71-39 win over Louisville Collegiate. She followed up the outing by scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds in Assumption's 55-23 win against South Warren.
Kinnidi Russell, Central, basketball
Kinnidi Russell had a breakout week for the Yellow Jackets. The junior delivered big time, scoring 24 points in Central's win over Eastern. She also put up eight points in Central's win against Presentation.
Allison Spieker, Whitefield Academy, basketball
Whitefield Academy senior Allison Spieker was a 3-point machine in last Thursday's game against Christian Academy. The Bethel University commit scored 23 points, shooting 5 of 8 (62.5%) from beyond the arc. Spieker added seven rebounds and four steals, lifting the Wildcats to a 70-55 victory over CAL.
