One of the top returning players in all of Division 4, senior Jayden Marlatt is looking to wrap her historic JoBurg career in style this spring as the Cardinals hope to outdo their state semifinal run from a season ago.

Marlatt put up some absurd numbers in 2023;  a .670 batting average, 63 hits,13 home runs, 61 runs batted in and 76 runs scored, all team-highs. She also racked up a 19-1 overall record in the circle with a 1.32 earned run average and 234 strikeouts in 117 innings pitched.

With the departures of Jocelyn Tobias and Gloria House, Marlatt will need the help of a few other top-level players, and she hopes to get that help from senior Cassie Tallman. Last year, Tallman had a .395 BA with four doubles, two triples, two home runs, 40 RBI and 36 runs scored

GSM hopes to join the two other area teams in all their success this season. Maybe not as a team, but maybe for an individual. Sophomore Kaylee Jeffers has been a big part of the new-look basketball and volleyball teams for the Snowbirds this season, so as the lone returning all-SVC softball player to the Snowbirds roster, she figures to be a big part in whatever they accomplish this season.
