Vote: Central Jersey Area Readers’ Choice Baseball Player of the Week poll for Week 4

Welcome to the MyCentralJersey.com Readers’ Choice Baseball Player of the Week poll after Week 4.

Area teams include squads from the Greater Middlesex Conference, Somerset, Hunterdon and area Union counties.

Please note that the votes don't always show up immediately. There are lags for the votes to register and a winner isn't declared until hours after the poll closes.

The poll closes Thursday at noon.

JACK CLEMENTS

East Brunswick Magnet

Clements helped East Brunswick Magnet to a 3-0 week, in which the Tigers outscored their opponents by a combined 46-12. He went 4-for-8 with two walks, six RBIs, nine runs and a stolen base. On the mound, he earned a win by allowing three runs in two innings in a 10-8 win over Dunellen.

MATTY DISKIN

Governor Livingston

Junior

Pitcher

He pitched a complete game, five-hit shutout Tuesday with nine strikeouts to beat Cranford 2-0. Diskin won his four games and has an 0.86 earned run average.

GRANT LORENTZEN

J.F. Kennedy

Sophomore

Pitcher/Outfielder

The Mustangs needed a win over Spotswood to stay alive in the GMC Blue Division race. Lorentzen delivered by allowing an unearned run in 6 2/3 innings with 11 strikeouts off of five hits and three walks to slow down the hot-hitting Chargers in a 4-1 win.

DREW LUKACHYK

Woodbridge

Pitcher/Infield

Lukachyk stepped up with the GMC White Division pennant on the line. He threw a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and allowed one run in a 4-1 win over Edison. He also went 5-for-10 during the week with two RBIs, four runs and six stolen bases.

JUSTIN PETTI

Manville

Junior

Outfielder

Petti went 5-for-8 during the week as the Mustangs won three-straight to move over .500 at 6-5. He also stole four bases and drove in four.

IZAIAH ROBINSON

Franklin

Junior

Centerfielder

Robinson, a three-year starter, went 6-for-9 in three games with three RBIs, seven runs scored and seven stolen bases. The Warriors won two of those games. Robinson is hitting .471 for the season with 17 steals and 13 runs scored.

ZACH ROBINSON

South Plainfield

Senior

Shortstop

Robinson had a huge week as South Plainfield went 5-0, including a key GMC Red Division sweep against Old Bridge. He hit .600 (9-for-15) with nine RBIs and nine runs scored.

DANNY WATTS

Dunellen

Junior

Pitcher/Utility

Watts threw a gem as Dunellen clinched the GMC Silver Division crown. He threw a one-hitter in a 13-3, five-inning win over Piscataway Magnet. The righty struck out 12 and scattered five walks. He also had six RBIs and scored six times during the week.
