We've decided to run it back one more vote for Augusta-area high school football player of the week.
Westminster Schools of Augusta quarterback Levi Murphey overwhelmingly took the top spot with 89.96 percent of the vote. Aquinas quarterback Jim Franklin came in second with 8.78 percent.

Augusta-area high school football player of the week nominees
Levi Murphey, Westminster Schools of Augusta
Murphey tossed three touchdown passes in Westminster’s 35-14 win over Windsor Academy, clinching the GIAA 8-man state football championship. He also recorded four interceptions and a touchdown as a defensive back.
Jim Franklin, Aquinas
Franklin scored five touchdowns (three rushing) in Aquinas 38-35 overtime loss to Macon County in the second round of the GHSA A-D2 state playoffs, highlighted by a 50-yard strike to Buddyrow Garrer to put the Irish on the board in the first quarter.
Anthony Jeffery, Thomson
Jeffery carried the football 12 times for 128 yards and a touchdown in Thomson’s 41-30 loss to Toombs County in the second round of the GHSA 2A state playoffs. He also recorded one reception for 14 yards.
Carter Chavous, Augusta Prep
Chavous rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in Augusta Preps’ 54-12 loss to Gatewood in the second round of the GIAA 2A state playoffs.
CJ Holmes, Laney
Holmes scored a pair of touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in Laney’s 35-14 loss to Pierce County in the second round of the GHSA 2A state playoffs.
