Vote on Athlete of the Week
Athlete of the Week is back and we are turning to readers to pick a winner from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader each week.
Nominees are based on results reported to bgmsports@gannett.com or events covered by sports reporters from the publications.
A winner will be announced Friday. Voting is open until the end of day Wednesday.
This week's nominees, based on events of Sept. 4-9.
Jaelyn Chrysler, Owego Free Academy cross country: She finished first in 19 minutes, 17 seconds at Red Jacket's Bob Goodell Memorial Cross Country Invitational. Chrysler was 19 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Sasha Honrath, Watkins Glen girls soccer: Scored two goals as defending Section 4 Class C champion Watkins Glen topped IAC power Elmira Notre Dame, 4-1.
Liam Nealy, Vestal football: Carried 23 times for 170 yards, including 144 in the first half, in the Golden Bears' 28-7 victory over Baldwinsville.
Carter Rosno, Corning boys soccer: Had a combined eight goals and three assists over two games. Rosno had five goals and two assists in the Hawks' 11-2 victory over Maine-Endwell and three goals and an assist in a 6-0 victory over Athens.
Jacob Totman, Dryden boys soccer: Registered three goals and three assists in a 13-0 triumph against Groton and scored a goal in a 3-2 victory against Green.
Eleanor Wagner, Delhi girls soccer: All four of her goals came in the second half in a 5-2 win over Livingston Manor/Roscoe at the Jack Flannery Tournament in Downsville.
