VOTE: APP Athlete of the Week No. 4, sponsored by Larson Ford

Here's your 2024 Week No. 4 spring season nominees for Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Larson Ford.

The poll will close on Monday (May 6) at 10 p.m.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 3 winner Sadie Honig from the Manalapan girls track and field team! The junior got 2,027 votes which was 91.80% of the votes.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 2 winner Emily Zellman from the Southern Regional softball team! The sophomore got 1,933 votes which was 86.84% of the votes.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 1 winner Nicole Knox from the Red Bank Catholic softball team! The junior had 3,510 votes which was 97.88% of the votes.

Nominees:

Matt Avivi, Manalapan, Jr. - Boys Lacrosse: He's had a season-high six goals against Jackson Memorial Saturday and three goals against Red Bank Catholic.

Sophia Devanay, Jackson Memorial, Sr. - Girls Lacrosse: The midfielder had a season-high nine goals to go with two assists, four draw controls, four forced turnovers, and nine ground balls in a victory over St. Rose.

John Welch, Ranney, Sr. - Boys Golf: The senior fired a 1-under-par 71, rolling in a 30-footer for birdie from just off the green on the final hole to force a playoff at the Shore Conference Tournament, before winning it on the first extra hole, while leading Ranney to the team title.

Sirina Ganne, Holmdel, Jr. - Girls Golf: The junior rolled to a four-shot victory at the Shore Conference Tournament, firing an even-par 72, as the Hornets won the team title.

Cassidy Supplee, Point Pleasant Boro, So. - Softball: She had three home runs and seven RBIs in four games, which were all for wins.

Dan Brunke, Pinelands, Sr. - Boys Volleyball: The setter had two kills, four digs, and 25 assists in a win over Atlantic Tech.

Grace Ascolese, Shore Regional, Fr. - Flag Football: She threw two touchdown passes to senior Antonette Russo and another to junior Kimi Sayson in a win over Trinity Hall.

Ben Krampert, Raritan, Sr. - Boys Tennis: Got a dominate singles win (6-2, 6-1) to help his team get a 5-0 win over Keansburg on Thursday.

Sophia Laudi, Holmde, Sr. - Girls Track and Field: She won the javelin throw at the Lion Invitational at Middletown North High with a mark of 137-5.

Kevin Van Lew, CBA, Sr. - Boys Track and Field: He won the discus throw at the Lion Invitational with a mark of 170-4.
