Vote here for the Anderson Independent-Mail high school football athlete of the week

The South Carolina high school football season is in full swing and last week's games gave us some outstanding performances from Anderson and Pickens athletes. Now it's time for you to choose the Week 1 Anderson Independent-Mail football athlete of the week.

Here are eight nominees. Voting closes Wednesday at 5 p.m.

RB Marquise Henderson, Belton-Honea Path: Henderson ran the ball 25 times for 197 yards and three touchdowns in the Bears' 43-28 win against Westside.

ATH Darius Latimer, Crescent: Latimer rushed 10 times for 94 yards with three touchdowns.

RB Ja'kari Bennett, Daniel: Bennett rushed eight times for 217 yards with three touchdowns — including of 95 and 93 yards — in Daniel's 38-0 win over Easley.

QB Luke Gray, Pendleton: On 21-of-41 passing, Gray completed 21 of 41 passes for 326 yards with six touchdowns in a 53-29 win over Eastside.

WR Kory Jones, Pendleton: Jones had seven catches for 138 yards with two TDs.

RB Jayden Pepper, Powdersville: Pepper rushed 15 times for 121 yards with three touchdowns in a 35-34 loss to Abbeville.

RB Josh Donald, T.L. Hanna: Donald rushed 13 times for 125 yards with a touchdown in a 28-17 win over Greenville.

ATH Sharode Richardson, Westside: Richardson had 142 all-purpose yards and one touchdown on 10 total touches.
