It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for Jan. 29-Feb. 4. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Sadie Erb

The Canandaigua bowling star led her team to a 5-0 win over Eastridge. Erb rolled a 194 high game and 559 series.

Rhylin Fehrenbach

Victor’s sophomore forward had 23 points and 26 rebounds in a win over state-ranked Aquinas on Tuesday, then followed with a team-high 18 points and 7 rebounds to help the Blue Devils slip past rival Canandaigua on Friday.

Hannah Governor

The Williamson sophomore helped the school's indoor track team win the Wayne-Finger Lakes Division 1 Championship and continued her climb toward the group of top distance runners in Section V. The 2023 Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Cross Country Team member won the 1,000-, 1,500- and 3,000-meter races at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Alyssa Kramer

The Alexander girls basketball star scored 23 points against Elba on Tuesday, and in the process became the program’s third player to reach 1,000 career points.

Julia Maldonado

The Penn Yan bowling star helped the Mustangs capture the Finger Lakes East title with a perfect 12-0 league mark and 15-0 overall record. Maldonado's 659 series led Penn Yan to a win over Midlakes in the regular season finale.

Hazell Nickerson

Nickerson, a junior for Caledonia-Mumford, became the sixth player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. She reached the milestone on an and-one Friday against Keshequa. Nickerson also had 23 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Perry earlier in the week.

Asia Wilson

The Bishop Kearney guard scored 33 points with 12 rebounds to help the Lady Kings complete a season sweep over Aquinas on Thursday, then posted 23 points and 8 rebounds the next day in a win over Section VI’s Williamsville South.
