Vlad Guerrero Jr. hits prospect in the head with 103-mph comebacker

In what is one of the scariest sights in all of sports, Salt River Rafters pitcher Tyler Mark of the Arizona Fall League was hit in the head by a 103.2 miles-per-hour line drive off the bat of Toronto Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The game was taking place at Salt River Fields in Talking Stick on Wednesday night when Mark had a Guerrero Jr. comebacker strike his head.

After remaining on the ground for several minutes while being tended to by trainers, Mark was able to walk off the field under his own power, according to Josh Norris of Baseball America.

While there have been no updates on the physical effects of the injury, the 23-year old Diamondbacks prospect did send out a tweet stating “all is well.”

Hopefully, Mark is able to return to full health and the diamond soon. The 2015 sixth-round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks pitched at the high-A and double-A level last season.
