Vikings vs. Bills: Staff predictions

The Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills are primed to have an interesting game on Sunday.

Quarterback Josh Allen is still listed as questionable for the game and the Vikings will be missing both edge rusher Gregory Rousseau and safety Jordan Poyer which could make things easier for the Vikings’ offense.

Below, you will see our staff predictions, along with Bills Wire managing editor Nick Wojton’s.

The Vikings are in an interesting position on Sunday. You could make the argument that they might be better off facing Josh Allen instead of Case Keenum. An injured Allen might not be as effective and Keenum will have a chip on his shoulder facing his old team with Stefon Diggs flanking him on the outside.

The kicker for the game will be the weather, as it will be 42 degrees with a likelihood of snow or rain. I see this being a relatively defensive game with the Vikings being tops in the league at not allowing drives to reach the red zone and the Bills being great at not allowing points. The Vikings need to win this game to show that they are real contenders and, like the last six games, they find a way to do so.

Prediction: Vikings 21, Bills 16

The Vikings have heard the questions about whether they are for real or not and this gives them a chance to make a statement. With Josh Allen injured and some key pieces out on defense, the Vikings pull off the upset.

Prediction: Vikings 21, Bills 18

Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen has the ball knocked loose on the last drive of the game by Bryce Huff of the Jets to cap off a NY Jets 20-17 win over the Buffalo Bills as the two teams met in an AFC East game played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on November 6 2022.

Assuming QB Case Keenum starts, the Bills still have a lot of talent around him to stay in this one. WR Stefon Diggs will be motivated against his former team no matter how much he downplays it, too. But one has to think the Vikings have too much on their side. Not only will QB Josh Allen either miss the game or play injured, the Bills defense has a bunch of holes right now. Whether it’s their beaten up secondary trying to cover Vikings WR Justin Jefferson or their run defense, which has allowed 378 yards combined over the past two weeks, it’s an ideal time for the Vikings to visit Orchard Park.

Prediction: Vikings 27, Bills 21
