The Vikings announced before tonight’s preseason game their donation to Hurricane Harvey relief. They are the 12th team in the NFL to officially join the fight against damage caused by the storm.

The team is contributing $100,000 to the American Red Cross while the family of owners Zygi and Mark Wilf will donate a combined $200,000. $100,000 will go to the American Red Cross with the same amount going to the Jewish Federation of North America Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

In order to promote the cause, several Vikings players appeared on the scoreboard during the preseason game with the Miami Dolphins encouraging fans to donate. Anyone can make a contribution via the team’s “text-to-give” program: Text HARVEY to the number 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross. The Vikings will also donate sales of all merchandise sold on their website.

Furthermore, head coach Mike Zimmer created a raffle to raise money as well. With just a $25 donation, fans enter to win two lower level tickets to the October 22nd tilt with Baltimore. Zimmer created the campaign through his charity, the Mike Zimmer Foundation.
