Vikings among the teams that lost the most talent in free agency

Minnesota made some big moves in 2021 free agency, but that can come at a cost.

The Vikings freed up cap space by releasing Kyle Rudolph, Riley Reiff and Dan Bailey. Not only that, but Minnesota saw S Anthony Harris leave for the Eagles this offseason.

Bleacher Report tallied up the teams that lost the most talent this offseason and it didn’t take long before the outlet got to the Vikings. Here’s what Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report wrote:

“Defensively, the big loss was Anthony Harris, who was good enough in 2019 to earn the franchise tag from Minnesota. Ifeadi Odenigbo contributed 35 tackles and 3.5 sacks this past season.

While the additions of defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and cornerback Patrick Peterson are noteworthy, they don’t quite make up for the volume of high-end losses the Vikings have experienced this offseason.”

Vikings fans, here is the good news: Both the Bears and the Packers are also on B/R’s list of teams with big losses this offseason. Also, with a lot of the losses being on defense, Minnesota’s free agency signings can possibly counteract a lot of the offseason departures.
