Vicksburg DL Tyler Carter commits to Mississippi State football, Zach Arnett
STARKVILLE — Tyler Carter, a defensive lineman from Vicksburg High School, has committed to Mississippi State football, he announced via social media on Monday.
Carter is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He does not have a rating on the 247Sports Composite ranking. Carter is the second 2024 commitment on the defensive line for MSU, joining four-star Terrance Hibbler.

The 6-foot-6, 251 pound Carter had offers from South Alabama, Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee State. He is the 15th commitment in MSU's first class under coach Zach Arnett. If his 247Sports rating holds in the Composite, Carter will be the ninth three-star player in the class.
Mississippi State has gained momentum on the recruiting trail since hosting its Big Dawg Clinic on June 1 − an on-campus event Carter attended. MSU's class had five commitments before the camp. Five of the six four-star prospects committed after the camp.

Arnett was promoted from defensive coordinator in December following the death of coach Mike Leach. In shuffling his staff, Arnett brought in David Turner to coach the defensive line. Turner is coaching the position at MSU for the third time.
