Note: The Terriers (13-15-3, 11-12-1) scored four unanswered goals to cop the road win at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Vermont falls to 11-16-4, 9-12-3.

Men’s basketball

Vermont 68, Maine 57

V: Shamir Bogues 21 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Ileri Ayo-Faleye 14 points, 4 rebounds. Nick Fiorillo 12 points, 5 rebounds.

M: Kellen Tynes 17 points, 6 rebounds. Jaden Clayton 13 points. Quion Burns 9 points.

Note: With John Becker unable to coach due to an illness, the Catamounts (21-6, 11-1) used an 11-1 run over the final four-plus minutes of the first half to take a 36-29 advantage into the break. The visitors didn't allow their lead to slip to one possession in the second stanza. When Maine made it a 53-48 game with 7:26 to go, Bogues knocked down a pair of baskets to highlight a personal 6-0 run. ... Associate head coach Ryan Schneider acted as head coach in Becker's absence.

Women’s basketball

Maine 57, Vermont 55

V: Andjela Matic 14 points, 5 rebounds. Keira Hanson 13 points, 3 assists. Anna Olson 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals. Emma Utterback 10 points, 4 assists.

M: Anne Simon 16 points. Adrianna Smith 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists. Sarah Talon 15 points, 5 rebounds.

Note: Caroline Bornemann's 3-pointer with 2:50 to play gave Maine (18-8, 11-1) a 55-51 advantage. Vermont falls to 18-9 overall and 10-3 in America East. The Catamounts raced out to a 20-8 first-quarter lead before the Black Bears won the middle quarters 16-12 and 22-11, respectively.

Women’s hockey

Vermont 3, Connecticut 0

Note: On senior day, the Catamounts (12-16-4, 10-12-3) struck for a pair of first-period goals to knock off No. 11 UConn (20-7-5, 17-4-4) for an impressive victory.
