Comment: The senior helped lead the Warriors to their second CIF-SS Open Division title in the last three years. The UC San Diego commit swept her singles sets at No. 1 singles as second-seeded Westlake tied top-seeded Mater Dei in sets, 9-9, but won the tiebreaker on games, 82-80, to capture the championship last Friday at Pomona-Pitzer College in Claremont. Lian also swept her singles sets in the Warriors’ 10-8 semifinal win over Palos Verdes last Wednesday. The Warriors advanced to the CIF-State regional championships, which they have won twice in the past three seasons.

Comment: The junior captain did it all to help the Seraphs defeat Cajon 37-19 in a CIF-SS Division 3 quarterfinal game last Friday at Ventura College. The receiver/cornerback scored on a 14-yard double-reverse run on his first rushing attempt of his high school career, reeled in a 54-yard reception for a touchdown, returned a kickoff 43 yards, racked up seven tackles, and had an interception (his ninth career pick). The Seraphs will play at top-seeded San Juan Hills this Friday in their first CIF-SS semifinal appearance since 2012.
