Vanderbilt women's bowling was honored at the White House as part of College Athlete Day Celebration on Monday for winning an NCAA championship in April.

The event was hosted by President Biden, Vice President Harris and and NCAA President Charlie Baker.

Vanderbilt was one of 46 teams across all three college divisions at the White House.

Mabel Cummins, the NCAA Player of the Year, represented Vanderbilt on the stage.

"To be invited to such an historic event, the first of its kind to bring NCAA champions to the White House, it’s a tremendous event and an accomplishment,” Cummins said in a school release. “I was honored to represent our team, a once in a lifetime experience that I won’t be able to forget.”

The Commodores won their third national championship with a 2-1 win over Arkansas State.

The Commodores made history as they overcame the mathematical odds and became the first team in NCAA bowling history to overcome a 3-1 deficit.

“I think today was especially meaningful and heartwarming because we spend so much time discussing the volatile landscape of college athletics and at times defending why it’s so powerful and transformational and today was a great reminder why,” athletic director Candace Lee said.

Vanderbilt bowling was at the White House in 2007 after winning the NCAA title. There was no event after the Commordores won the 2018 title.
