UWS women's hockey falls to UW-Eau Claire

Jan. 11—SUPERIOR — Emma Booth's third-period goal did not a comeback make for Wisconsin-Superior on Thursday, Jan. 11, as the Yellowjackets lost 3-1 to Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game at Wessman Arena.

UWS was outshot 40-16, and the territorial disadvantage played out with UWEC scoring the game's first three goals, with Sophie Rausch recording a goal and assist.

Booth pulled one back with a goal with 8:16 to play, her second goal of the season, off a feed from Ashton Parnell, but the Blugolds scored again less than two minutes later.

Rose Beeman made 36 saves in the UWS net, but the Yellowjackets (4-12-1, 1-2-1 WIAC) lost their ninth consecutive game.

The teams meet again in Eau Claire on Saturday, Jan. 13.
