USWNT star Allie Long's wedding ring, cash and key to NYC stolen after ESPYs
Allie Long’s celebratory day as a world champion ended on the opposite note as her Los Angeles hotel room was burglarized after the 2019 ESPY Awards.
Long, a midfielder for the United States women’s national team and Reign FC, tweeted Thursday someone stole her wedding ring, cash and “the key to my favorite city,” New York.
After the @ESPYS show someone stole my wedding ring, cash and the key to my favorite city after just receiving it from my hotel room. Do you make copies @NYCMayor ? I would love a new one.

The USWNT was in New York that morning for a ticker-tape parade celebrating its fourth World Cup and each player received a key to the city from Mayor Bill de Blasio.
De Blasio responded Friday morning to the Northport, Long Island, native with words of encouragement and a promise of a spare.
“We got you covered,” he tweeted.

The USWNT flew to Los Angeles to attend the ESPYs, where the squad won the “Best Team” award. Teammate Alex Morgan, who tweeted at Long in support, won “Female Athlete of the Year.”

The Los Angeles police department confirmed to ABC 7 the items were stolen from her and her husband’s room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel on Wednesday night. The door was left ajar and there was no sign of forced entry, per ABC 7. Police are reviewing video from the hotel.
Long’s wedding ring is worth about $15,000, according to TMZ Sports. She made light of the situation on Instagram with a photo of her and husband, Jose Batista, in “USA Beat Everybody” T-shirts and Long biting her gold medal. The burglars did not take “my mans (or medal Thank God),” she wrote in the caption.
