USC offers 2025 offensive lineman Jonte Newman

In the class of 2025, there’s plenty of offensive line talent. This is especially true when looking at the state of Texas within the cycle.

Jonte Newman stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 290 pounds. He’s from Cypress, Texas, and plays high school football at Bridgeland. His primary position is left tackle, but he has some versatility and could play guard at the next level as well.

“I feel like I’m best as a pass protector right now,” Newman said. “I think that’s really good for the next level and I think that’s kind of what separates me from other recruits right now, I’m just really confident in myself in pass-pro. I’m working on improving my run blocking, then knowing what the defense is running and stuff like that … I just like putting somebody on their ass, man, that’s the most fun part.”

Newman is ranked No. 246 overall, the No. 22 offensive tackle, and the No. 41 player in the state of Texas.

Newman’s top schools as of today are: Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Baylor, Houston, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

Oklahoma fans were right about Lincoln Riley, at least for this specific season.

USC assistants need to be coaching for their jobs.

Lincoln Riley did not assemble an elite 2023 roster, which surprised us and a lot of other observers.

Is USC ready to win in 2024 with Miller Moss or Malachi Nelson at quarterback? Lincoln Riley has to be honest about how he answers that question.

Brent Venables is coaching Oklahoma far better this year than Lincoln Riley is coaching USC. It’s up to Riley to change that reality.
