USC basketball schedule for Bronny James in Greece, Croatia this August
The USC Trojans men’s basketball team will have plenty of eyes watching their games this season. The addition of Bronny James, who joins a roster including Boogie Ellis, D.J. Rodman, and Isaiah Collier, will draw plenty of attention all season long.
It begins in August with the Trojans traveling to Greece and Croatia for a three-city tour against professional teams from the area. The firsthand look at Bronny James in a USC uniform will be in Greece, and this is an exciting maneuver for the Trojans.
Here’s a rundown of the cities they will play in as well as a statement from Andy Enfield.
ATHENS, GREECE
The Trojans will play in Athens, Greece, for one of the games during this exhibition tour. This is notable because LeBron James won bronze with the United States men’s national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
MYKONOS, GREECE
The second city the Trojans will play in is Mykonos, Greece, before they travel to Croatia.
DUBROVNIK, CROATIA
The Trojans will play one game in Croatia with the other two in Greece. Croatia’s rich basketball heritage will give USC a diverse sampling of playing styles, which can in turn serve as a roster-sharpening moment for Andy Enfield.
VINCENT IWUCHUKWU EXPECTED TO BE WITH TEAM
All indications are that Vincent Iwuchukwu will be with the team for this exhibition tour. Last summer, he wasn’t able to practice with the team, but he made his debut in January and flashed his talent. Having a full summer gives Iwuchukwu a chance to significantly improve, which raises USC’s ceiling a lot.
ANDY ENFIELD
Andy Enfield seems excited with the opportunity to play overseas against professional teams. Here’s what he said, per Myron Medcalf of ESPN:
“We are excited to announce our 2023 Summer Tour to Greece and Croatia,” Enfield began. “This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes and staff to enjoy a unique educational and cultural experience in three amazing cities. The three games against competitive professional teams will be invaluable to the development of the 2023-24 squad.”
